Student feedback:

Les - Just want to thank you for all you have done to help me pass. Great teacher and not too serious - have had a good laugh along the way

Les, thank you so much-your complete calm patience and belief meant so much and gave me the confidence to restart my lessons and pass my test first time with you-11 years after originally taking lessons.

Les, just wanted to drop a quick note, which you can use on the website if you wanted. I've been driving 'solo' for 4 months now since I passed with you, due to work, alot of motorway stuff between Manchester and Liverpool and Northwales. I often find myself thinking back to the lessons when I'm driving as your advice was so good. I'm not sure if I could have gone solo so early if it wasn't for your teaching. Many thanks for the lessons - there were some bad times, and some good times, but you really helped me when I even doubted myself. Hope things are well with you, I keep any eye for a black 207 (?) when I'm in Radcliffe. Many thanks again, you gave me the skills to get mobile!

Martin McGuiness, Radcliffe.

The courses I offer follow the unique Learner Driving System of driving tuition.  Each course includes the provision of the Driving Skills Workbook and DVD/Videos which are not available from other companies or shops.

When you take a course each lesson is carefully planned and follows a set programme with clearly defined objectives or ‘targets’ as we prefer to call them, where I use professional training materials and modern training methods to ensure your training is both effective and enjoyable.

Preparing for a driving lesson at home beforehand, using the unique driving skills video programme and workbook will significantly cut down the amount of time normally spent by your instructor at the beginning of each new lesson at the side of the road on a lesson brief. Normally a instructor will take up to 20 minutes or more explaining about the lesson objectives, the road procedures you need to learn and the driving techniques you need to understand. All this needs to be done before you get moving. With the Learner Driving  System all this can in fact be covered by yourself at home, beforehand, by watching the driving skills video and doing a simple quiz in the  driving skills workbook.

The Learner Driving system was orginally designed for intensive training but itcourses can be of equal benefit for those taking weekly lessons. For intensive training to be effective it has to be carefully structured, meticulously planned and expertly delivered - hence the development of the Learner Driving system.

Trial Lesson
Perhaps the best way to start if you are unsure how to proceed.  Often people enjoy this lesson so much they can't wait to start for real.  For me, it allows me to assess your driving capability and better suggest how to continue.

Weekly Lessons
"Pay as you go" lessons.  Take one or two hours at a time on a weekly basis or a couple of lessons per week.  It's up to you and your budget.  You can even block book ten at a time for a discount.    Unlike the courses described below, the LD Driving Skills Workbook and DVD/Videos are not included in the price, but can be purchased separately.

FastPass - One Week Course *
Usually taken over seven days, finishing on a Friday this course is made up of 30 or 40 hours one to one in-car training (including 2 hours for attending the driving test) plus home study, using the LD Driving Skills DVD/Videos and Workbook.  The total duration of this course is around 40 hours.   Ideal for those who may not otherwise find time to undertake lessons.   Most people arrange holidays/leave from work to do this course, as it is essential to book well in advance.

FastPass - Semi-intensive Course*
Identical in content to the One Week Pass Course, except that the training is spread over two or more weeks to suit you if you have other commitments.  This is a really popular and successful form of intensive training designed for people who want to pass their test quickly but at a comfortable pace.   Included are the LD Driving Skills DVD/Videos and Workbook.

Midway Pass Course *
For those who have already learned the basic control skills of driving this course involves 20 hours one to one instruction (including 2 hours for attending the driving test).  Added to your home study using the LD Driving Skills DVD/Videos and Workbook, the total duration of this course is around 30 hours.

Test Booster Course *
Perfect for those who are nearly test standard and just need a short burst of lessons prior to their test.   It is also ideal for those who have had an attempt at the test some time ago but haven't had any lessons since.   The in-car training is 15 hours one to one (including 2 hours for attending the driving test).  The total duration of the course is around 25 hours including your home study using the LD Driving Skills DVD/Videos and Workbook.

Pass Plus
Once you have passed your driving test the Pass Plus course is designed to encourage positive driving and to show you what it means to be an experienced motorist.  With participating insurance companies it entitles you to receive one additional years no claims discount on your vehicle insurance.   The training is divided into six one hour sessions, at least five of which are taught on the road.  The practical sessions cover driving in town, rural roads, night driving, all weather driving, dual carriageways and motorways.    Pass Plus can only be taken during your first year as a qualified driver.   The course would be taken using my tuition car.

Motorway Lessons
During your driving lessons and before passing your test you were not allowed to drive on a motorway.  Your first time can be a scary experience.  Why not let me help you make it a safe and enjoyable one?  Each lesson is of a two hour duration and would be taken using my tuition car.

Please note - for courses marked with an asterisk only: You will be required to complete a two hour assessment lesson before you agree to undertake the training.  This is to determine your suitability for your chosen course.

On these courses, you would usually need to pass the theory test before your required course start date. A practical driving test cannot be booked until you have passed your theory test.

The cost of one practical driving test is included.
